Hello, my name is Dr. Thomasa Bond and this is my blog about early childhood education and licensing principles. Much of this blog comes from my professional experience and knowledge in this area, so I am happy to tell you more about myself and my credentials in the field.
I have a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Early Childhood Education along with a Master’s in Family Support Systems and a Bachelor’s in Child Development Family and Consumer Resources. That being said, I am very dedicated to the field of early childhood education, literacy, support, and care. My research and teaching interests are emergent literacy, infant/toddler development, incorporating diversity within the classroom, and the benefits of developmentally appropriate play.
I have taught courses such as Emergent Language and Literacy as well as Infant Toddler Development at the college level. Having over 30 years of experience in the early childhood field, I continue to interface daily with a diverse child care community. I also have trained early childhood professionals on classroom arrangement, the importance of play, infant and toddler development, licensing rules, training assistant caregivers, and parent communication.
On a personal level, I enjoy tap dancing, shopping and traveling to warm areas during the winter months, relaxing time with my family and friends, and reflection time to look back on the day’s events.
Thank you for reading my blog! Feel free to provide your email for more updates. If you have an early childhood related questions feel free to ask and I would be more than happy answer.
Thank-you, I’m glad that the information was useful.
Very proud of all of your accomplishments…the best is yet to come.
Thanks Yolanda
